General Steps to become a Senior Helpers Franchise

A good fit is important to us in strengthening our brand and for you to find the right home care franchise opportunity. We take pride in our work and share core values to ensure a level of excellence in our industry. Here is what you can expect as you move through the process to be granted a Senior Helpers franchise.

During our initial call, we will review territory availability, talk about your goals of owning a home care business as well as your background. Following the discussion, you will be asked to fill out a Candidate form so we can better understand you.

We offer either a two-hour webinar using our Webex system where we will discuss our company, vision and brand differentiators or you may choose to accept a link to a series of shorter video presentations that you can review at your own leisure. In each, we review our scope of services, the nature and characteristics of a selected territory and staffing. We will also review the details of the investment, support offered, finances and marketing. Following the Series, we will send you the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). The FDD contains information to help evaluate the investment costs and details of the existing and past territories.

An important part of learning about our company is to speak to people you might be joining in the Senior Helpers family. You can ask a current or past franchisee anything and get the perspective of someone who runs or has run a Senior Helpers business to help you to preparing to open your own Senior Helpers business. To assist with this, we have provided some downloadable Information Sheets that can guide you through the process.

After conducting your due diligence, we will organise a telephone discussion to answer any further questions and we will ask for clarification of any issues that we feel need addressing. At this point, if we consider you a great candidate, we will provide you with a draft Franchise Agreement to read. We suggest at this point, that if you are wanting to join our network, that you seek professional advice on this business opportunity. There is no obligation to follow thorough until the Agreement is granted and signed.

In most circumstances, we will ask you to start planning ahead by developing a preliminary Business Plan. We will send you a the framework, and this will provide us with a deeper understanding of you, your goals and how we can support you to achieve your goal.

Once approved, we will organise for our lawyer to draw up the Franchise Agreement. This will be forwarded to you but there is a 14-day cooling off period before you can sign the Agreement.

Following the signing, the exciting part of the journey begins – starting the activities that need to be completed before our in-depth Initial Training as part of the Australian Senior Helpers Family!


You will quickly learn that running a Senior Helpers franchise does not require a lot of overheads or large office space, and that internal staffing needs are minimal at the outset. Here is what you’ll need:

Senior Helpers Franchise Investment

The investment range to start a Senior Helpers franchise is from $75,000 – $150,000 which includes working capital and staffing costs along with the $50,000 (+GST) initial franchise fee.

We like to think of the franchise start-up cost as a true investment, rather than simply a purchase. Your franchise Agreement fee covers the comprehensive training process, additional supports and resources, designed to prepare you as well as is possible before you open your business. This also includes an array of business, industry-specific and employment-related materials and policies to ensure that you have all the tools they need to succeed.


Senior Helpers’ ongoing royalty fee is 6% of gross sales every fortnight after you start providing services. Over time, as your business and services grow, we offer reductions in your royalties to as low as 3% to ensure that you are able to reinvest and allocate more of your earnings in the manner you believe will benefit you over the long term.
