General Steps to become a Senior Helpers Franchisee

A good fit is important to us in strengthening our brand and for you to find the right home care franchise opportunity. We take pride in our work and share core values to ensure a level of excellence in our industry. Here is what you can expect as you move through the process of becoming a Senior Helpers franchisee.

Step 1: Initial Call

During our initial call, we will review territory availability, talk about your goals of owning a home care business as well as your background. Following the discussion, you will be asked to fill out a Candidate form so be can better understand you.

Step 2: Discovery Seminar

We will offer a two-hour webinar using our Webex system where we will discuss our company, vision and brand differentiators. We will review our scope of services, the nature and characteristics of your proposed territory and staffing. We will also review the details of the investment, supports and marketing.

Following the seminar, we will send you the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). The FDD contains information to help evaluate the investment costs and details of the existing and past territories.

Step 3: Validation

An important part of learning about our company is to speak to people you might be joining in the Senior Helpers family. You can ask a franchisee anything and get the perspective of someone who runs a Senior Helpers business to help you in preparing to open your own Senior Helpers.

Step 4: Clarification

After conducting your due diligence, we will organise a telephone discussion to answer any further questions you may have and we will ask for clarification of any issues that we feel need addressing. At this point, we will provide you with a draft Franchise Agreement to consider. We suggest at this point, that if you are moving towards joining our network, that you seek advice on this business opportunity. There is no obligation on your behalf until the final Agreement is signed.

Step 5: Planning for the Business

In most circumstances, we will ask you to start planning ahead by developing a preliminary Business Plan. We will provide you with the framework, but it will provide us with a deeper understanding of you and how we can support you as a franchisee.

Step 6: Reaching Your Goal as a Business Owner

Once approved, we will organise for our lawyer to draw up the Franchise Agreement. This will be forwarded to you but there is a 14-day cooling off period before you can sign the Agreement.

Following the signing, the exciting part of the journey begins – starting the activities that need to be completed before our 6-day New Owner Training as part of the Australian Senior Helpers Family!


You will quickly learn that running a Senior Helpers franchise does not require a lot of overheads or large office space, and that internal staffing needs are minimal at the outset. Here is what you’ll need:

Senior Helpers Franchise Investment

The investment range to start a Senior Helpers franchise is $105,000 - $150,000 which includes working capital and staffing costs along with the $50,000 (+GST) initial franchise fee.

We like to think of the franchise start-up cost as a true investment, rather then simply a purchase. Your franchisee fees cover the comprehensive training process and resources, designed to make new franchisees prepared as is possible before they open their doors for business. This also includes a vast array of business, industry-specific and employment-related materials and policies to ensure that our franchisees have all the tools they need to succeed.


Senior Helpers’ ongoing royalty fee is 6% of gross sales. Over time as the business and sales grow, we offer reductions in royalties to as low as 3% to ensure that owners are able to reinvest and allocate more of the earnings in the manner they believe will benefit them in the long term.
